Engagement Ring Showcase: A Community Discussion
Hey everyone!
I’m excited to share a significant moment in my life—I recently got engaged! 🎉 I decided to take the plunge and propose to my girlfriend, and of course, picking out the perfect engagement ring was a big part of that journey.
As I embarked on this quest, I found myself overwhelmed by the myriad of choices: the types of gemstones, cuts, settings, and, of course, the style that would resonate with her personality. After much consideration, I finally settled on a ring that I think reflects both her taste and the love we share.
Here’s the ring!
(Include a high-quality photo of the ring)
My Selection Process
-
The Gemstone: I opted for a classic diamond, primarily due to its timeless elegance. However, I contemplated alternatives like sapphires and emeralds—anyone here go the non-traditional route? What were your experiences like?
-
The Cut: I chose a round brilliant cut. I wanted something that sparkled and could catch the light from all angles. For those of you with different cuts (princess, oval, pear, etc.), how did you decide on yours? Did you have any specific criteria in mind?
-
The Setting: I went for a delicate halo setting to enhance the central stone and provide a modern twist while retaining a vintage charm. What settings do you all love? Do you prefer solitaire rings or something more intricate?
I Need Your Opinions!
Now I want to hear from you! What do you all think of my choice? I’m eager to hear your thoughts, and I’d love for this to be a discussion about everyone’s engagement ring journeys.
-
For those who are already engaged or married: What was your selection process like? Did you face any similar challenges?
-
Future brides and grooms: What styles or gemstones are you considering for your rings?
-
Jewelry Enthusiasts: What advice do you have for someone in the engagement ring shopping phase? Any tips on how to choose the right stone or setting?

It’s STUNNING! I think she will love it
It’s so gorgeous!!! Nice job! She will love it!
It’s fucking gorgeous. It’s a matter of personal taste, but it’s got such over-the-top princess vibes that the 2 karat would just be too much for me.
Unique and gorgeous!!!
If she likes Oore and said she wanted a marquise, I think you fulfilled the requirements of the assignment, here.
Try not to overthink it.
This is incredible! So unique and stunning. You can tell you put thought in! Congratulations!!!!
I think with this design a 2-carat would be wildly inappropriate, this is already a large ring and if the plan is also to get a matching wedding band this is already taking up a big chunk of her available finger space lol. Also a 2 Carat marquis is going to look bigger than say a 2 carat round just due to the shape— and seeing a 2 carat on someone with a bigger hand/finger than her or a simple setting isn’t going to translate the same to a ring with a very intricate setting like this on a smaller finger. I wouldn’t stress about the carat and focus on the fact that you got her a ring she would enjoy wearing— and how you are gonna ask lol it’s gorgeous so be confident!
Since you’re asking opinions. I think it would be good to know if she’d prefer a solitaire vs halo/surrounding diamonds because that makes a big difference in the look. I think a solitaire would look cleaner and more timeless unless she’s into an antique look.
This is so beautiful, truly… a 2 carat marquise is pretty long and gets almost uncomfortable to wear in a halo setting (unless she has extremely large hands)… I think this is perfect.
I think the halo effect that the ring has will make it look more than large enough!!! It is truly gorgeous, and marquise jewels always look bigger than their actual carat weight, so I think you’re good!!!
this is gorgeous!!!
Beautiful
f&$@cking spectacular man.
fuggin well done 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Please share a pic of this on her finger. I am obsessed!!!
Will you be able to get it by the warden? 🤭
Seriously, it’s a beautiful ring.
trust me she’s gonna love it
It’s absolutely beautiful and sounds like you really paid attention to what she liked! It’s gorgeous, well done!
Is that a single marquise center stone with one on either side, or four separate marquis stones?
Gorgeous! I have this in gold with an aqua pear shaped center stone and I love it soooo much! She will love it
Stunning!!
Since you asked…if she didn’t ask for a halo you may want to rethink it. It’s a very personal design. Also she’s mentioning two carats in front of you intentionally, enough for you to take note. If you’re able you may want to consider making a change to a two carat without a halo.
Her talking about a specific size and shape in front of you is her telling you want she wants.
Best to you both.
It’s absolutely stunning. I think she’s going to love it!
One day I’ll have one of these 🥹 it’s my dream ring too. You did great!
It’s gorgeous. Stop worrying.
It’s absolutely gorgeous! She will love it!
I love marquise and I LOOOOVE it WOW!! If she doesn’t like it, you know who’s buying🙋
Thats beautiful! And I’m wondering if the reason she wants one is bc she wants to get married?
Wow.

I’ve got Starlight with a 8x4mm center stone and I’m obsessed. Of course it’s different strokes for everyone but I would find it hard to believe she would be disappointed with what you’ve chosen. ❤️
Omg, I’m not a marquise kinda girl, but that is amazing. If she doesn’t love it, I’ll buy it from you for myself. 🤭🥰 I love how unique that halo effect is. I think you chose well, and if it happens not to be what she expected, and may not be what she wants to wear forever, please don’t take it to heart. It really happens to the best, and it’s probably only because she’s pictured what her ring would look like for probably years. When she’s looked down at her hand, and envisioned her life with you, there’s been an image in her head. I think it will be great. Best of luck!!
Wow. Gorgeous.
