Is it acceptable to wear my wedding band this way?

Can I Wear My Wedding Band Like This? Let the Discussion Begin!

Hey everyone! 💍

I’ve been scrolling through our incredible community and noticed how passionate we all are about engagement rings and wedding bands. Each piece tells a story, and each story is uniquely beautiful! Recently, I’ve been wondering about the best ways to wear my wedding band alongside my engagement ring, and I’m curious to hear your thoughts!

Show Off Your Style!

Before we dive in, here’s a little glimpse at my engagement ring—insert photo here—isn’t it stunning? I chose it for its unique (insert stone, cut, or setting details), but I’ve been wondering about the perfect way to pair it with my wedding band.

How do you style yours? Do you wear your wedding band on top, below, or even on a different finger? I’ve seen some people get really creative with stacking rings, and I love the idea of mixing in other bands or even wearing them on different hands!

The Great Debate: Band Placement

The traditional way is to wear the wedding band closest to your heart, but these days, rules are made to be broken! Some folks prefer the engagement ring on top for a more standout look, while others love the sleek profile of having the band on top.

What are your thoughts? Are you a traditionalist, or do you mix it up?

Gem Choices & Setups

Let’s not neglect the bling itself! If you have more than one band or a custom piece that complements your engagement ring, please share! Do you match metals, or do you embrace the mismatched look?

I’m also curious about how different gem choices affect the overall feel. For example, do you think a diamond wedding band pairs best with a diamond engagement ring? Or is there room for colored stones and mixed metals?

Tips for Finding Your Unique Style

  • Try Different Combinations: Don’t be afraid to mix rings or even add a fun fashion band!
  • Consider Comfort: Some bands may fit better atop your engagement ring, while others could be more comfortable below.
  • Personal Preferences: Ultimately, wear what makes you feel good. After all, it’s about personal style and what represents your journey together.

Share Your Thoughts!

Now it’s your turn! Have you experimented with wearing your wedding band in different ways? Do you have tips, tricks, or even regrets about your choices? Share your stories and pictures below! Let’s inspire each other to find the perfect way to show off our love—one ring at a time! ✨

Happy posting! 💖

I don’t see a problem with it if it’s not uncomfortable or loose and you like it!

Are you able to go to a jeweler and ask about your options? They may be able to solder them together or raise the stone on the engagement ring.

You can wear it however it makes you happy because it is YOURS! 🩷 Personally it would drive me nuts – you could always find a wedding band that follows the contour of the ring- or isn’t a complete circle.

You can get a wedding band with a V or curve that goes around the engagement ring.

You need a Chevron band to sit without a gap, babe. But you can wear this band if you’re happy with the way it looks. Your rings are both STUNNING!

Personally don’t see how this works and would choose something different and more complimentary, but it’s more about what you like.

Wow, theyre beautiful! 😊 But if you want them to sit snugly a wishbone spacer may help. A jeweller should be able to point you in the right direction

You absolutely can… They are both beautiful but honestly the way they sit doesn’t “look” right and can possibly your engagement ring may slip off. A chevron or enhancer/jacket

Of course you can!  I prefer a space between the engagement and wedding bands, in fact.  Something about anything other than a straight wedding band annoys me.  It feels like the symbolism is lost.

    Hey there!

Just a gentle reminder about wearing wedding bands NOT soldered together:

They will be CONSTANTLY twisting and rubbing together. This may not bother you, but it can be an issue for the longevity and integrity of the gold and prongs on the rings. Just something to think about!

If you don’t wear them both together all the time, then I understand not wanting to get them soldered 🥰 if you DO wear them all the time then soldering them is the safer choice, as you will likely have costly repairs, and may have to replace the band eventually due to constant friction.

    BEAUTIFUL ring btw 🥰🙌🏻

Do you prefer it sits flush? If not then it’s fine. If you do then you need a band that curves to fit the shape of your ring or a band with the top portion open.

The problem is over time, the engagement ring will likely cause damage to your wedding ring (and perhaps vice versa). I’d consider having your band altered (or custom created using the existing gemstones) to fit around it.

You absolutely can, but your engagement rings looks like it sits too close to your knuckle. Can you push your rings onto your finger more? People have gotten injuries from wearing their rings too close to their knuckles like that. Stay safe!

you can wear it however you’d like! it’s your ring but if you do want suggestions, my ring is also flat and my stone is pear shaped so i chose just a wishbone band to compliment my ring for now, i’m sure if you wanted you could find something like that to fit yours or get something custom!

If it feels comfortable to you then yes! The prong on my engagement ring sits like your ring so my plan is to wear my engagement ring on my right hand (following German tradition of rings on the right hand) and I will wear my wedding band on my right hand.

That point is going to put tension on whatever stone hits it. I’d transfer the straight band to another finger and do a deep V shaped band to pair with your engagement ring. I love your set!

My E ring is shaped like yours and is flat, I’m getting a chevron band custom made to fit around the bottom of my ring! I also thought about doing an open wedding band, but was worried about it snagging and pulling open.

I agree with so many here that you should wear it how you like it. My wedding band doesnt even go with my engagement ring because I wanted mine and my husband’s wedding rings to match.

Besides chevron rings, there are also open bands and open band ring enhancers.

I had this issue with my engagement and band, and kept pushing my wedding and engagement together, and my engagement ended up getting bent out of shape in the span of a week. I got myself an open wedding band/gap band to put in between the wedding and engagement. I didn’t want a set, because I wanted my band to match my husband’s but the rock was too big and the band too dainty. My engagement is currently out for repair, so I’ll report back if it helped.

if it doesn’t bother you and you like the look then go for it! It’s your special ring!!!

if you’re interested in a different style, maybe you can look into open rings bands or ring enhancers/guards that allow enough space around your engagement ring? I don’t have the exact ring as you, but was also looking into more open/contoured wedding bands! here’s an example!

You have a low profile engagement ring (sits low to the finger). Plus, there’s an elogated center stone. If you want a flush fit, you’ll likely have to get something custom designed or go with an open band. But there’s absolutely nothing wrong with wearing them as-is. It’s your finger, and if you love it, that’s all that matters.

I’d take it to a jeweler and have them soldered together so they don’t rub. He’d have to take out some diamonds and reshape the band but you could use them in earrings or something!

Wear the engagement ring on your right hand and the band on the left.

I have an open band and a similarly shaped engagement ring. So my band isn’t a complete circle which allows it to nest flush with the engagement ring!

If it doesn’t bother you, you can do whatever you want! I have a marquise center stone and 2 pear sides and we got a setting that was as low as they could go to be able to still have a band that can sit flush and doesn’t curve. It’s still pretty low so doesn’t snag on anything but high enough as I personally did not want a curved band to go around it. I wanted something that would sit flush. So you could get a curved band, or have your engagement ring redone to have the band be able to sit flush, or keep it like this if you like it. I don’t have the wedding band yet, but any band will sit flush the jeweler figured it all out.
