Love My Ring—Didn’t Want Anything Big!
Hello, fellow ring enthusiasts! 💍
I can’t help but feel overjoyed to share my engagement ring journey with all of you. When my partner proposed, I was thrilled beyond words, and the best part? I absolutely adore my ring! But let me backtrack a bit—I made it clear from day one that I didn’t want anything extravagant or overly big.
Why I Prefer Subtlety
For me, the symbolism of the ring far outweighs the need for size or overwhelming bling. My taste leans towards elegance and simplicity, and I believe that a ring should reflect the love and connection it signifies, rather than just catching the spotlight.
-
More Meaning, Less Size: It was essential to me that my ring intricate designs and personalized elements spoke to our story. A simple band with delicate details can often speak more volumes than a grand piece.
-
Comfort is Key: Let’s be honest—big rings can be heavy and cumbersome! I wanted something that felt comfortable to wear every day, especially since I’m one for a busy lifestyle.
-
Timeless Beauty: I believe that classic and understated designs have a timeless quality that shines through, regardless of changing trends. My ring is something I can see myself wearing forever without it feeling dated.
The Ring Itself

Isn’t it just perfect? My engagement ring features a stunning round diamond set in a vintage-inspired band with intricate scrollwork. The diamonds on the band catch the light beautifully without overpowering the central stone.
Let’s Talk Cuts and Settings!
I’d love to hear from all of you about your rings! What drew you to your specific choices in cuts, settings, and styles? Did you opt for something extravagant or embrace the beauty of simplicity like I did?
-
Gemstone Choices: Do you have colorful stones or diamonds? How did you decide?
-
Settings: I went for a classic prong setting. Are you a fan of tension settings, halo, or perhaps a bezel setting?
-
Stories Behind the Ring: Every ring has a story! What is the most meaningful aspect of your engagement ring for you?

It’s beautiful. You could be a hand model.
Gorgeous! My initial engagement ring was a 1/4 solitaire low raise as I coached and was a ref but wanted to be able to wear it daily! I still love it so much but he did surprise me with a beautiful upgrade at 25 now the kids are grown. My oldest just proposed and asked her if she would like one of her choice, my mother’s which is a stunning 2.5 pear with diamonds or mine! She is an athletic director and chose mine! Makes me smile to my core!
