I have a 3.75 ka ivory sapphire rose cut bezel made by a Jeweller in Canada her name is Melanie LeBlanc. The ring was sold at a small Canadian store called, [Madeyoulook.ca](http://Madeyoulook.ca) that features local jeweller’s work.
I love Melanie’s work bc she features stones that have lots of milky, silky inclusives. I’m drawn to creamy natural gems with a story to tell.

My lackluster photography skills absolutely do not do my rings justice, Iβm waiting for a nice sunny day to take pictures of them on my hand and itβs been raining T_T
Mediocre photo aside, I wanted to take this opportunity to give a shoutout to Leah Hollrock (u/maneatingcrayon)! She was absolutely lovely to work with and her work is so so beautiful.
Oore for my engagement ring and Virtuoso Jewels in NC for my band!!!
I love jewelers that work with rose cuts, bezels, texture, stones that don’t traditionally meet ideal “specs,” and that sometimes embed stones in the rings themselves. Two designers that do a lot of this are Satomi Kawakita and EC Design. A few examples from EC Design Studios (this is where I got my own ring!):
* [Textured band with rose cut bezel-set sapphire](https://www.ecdesignstudios.com/collections/shop-rings/products/blue-oval-rosecut-sapphire-ring-in-yellow-gold)
* She has a whole range of [rings like these](https://www.ecdesignstudios.com/collections/shop-rings/products/square-cell-ring-in-sterling-silver-and-yellow-gold-with-diamond-accent-copy), with a flat rectangular metal “plate” with a small inset stone, where the metal plate kind of functions the way that a solitaire stone would in a more traditional ring ([here’s an example with a square rather than a rectangle](https://www.ecdesignstudios.com/collections/shop-rings/products/rcr0043-square-cell-ring-in-sterling-silver-and-yellow-gold-with-diamond-accent-copy-copy)). I’m actually thinking of getting one of these just to have, because I really do love them.
* Similar “aesthetic” is the style above, but with a [small round metal plate](https://www.ecdesignstudios.com/collections/shop-rings/products/rcrc-03-round-cell-ring-in-sterling-silver-and-rose-gold-with-diamond-accent-draft) instead of a rectangular one
* Reallllllly [dark/opaque rose-cut sapphire](https://www.ecdesignstudios.com/collections/shop-rings/products/blue-sapphire-ring-in-rose-gold-and-hammered-palladium-copy) bezel-set ring
* Most gorgeous [two-toned milky blue sapphire](https://www.ecdesignstudios.com/collections/shop-rings/products/rsgr1-6-47) I’ve ever seen
* Wonky-shaped [highly included yellow bezel-set sapphire](https://www.ecdesignstudios.com/collections/shop-rings/products/rsgr1-6-42-organic-yellow-sapphire-ring-in-yellow-gold)
* She also does a bunch of textured mixed-metal bands with inset stones, with several different designs ([example 1](https://www.ecdesignstudios.com/collections/shop-rings/products/rwb0019), [example 2](https://www.ecdesignstudios.com/collections/shop-rings/products/rbmd06-palladium-and-rose-gold-band-with-accent-diamonds), [example 3](https://www.ecdesignstudios.com/collections/shop-rings/products/rrr0017-6mm-rivet-band-in-hammered-palladium-and-rose-gold-with-mixed-diamonds))
Essentially, I’m an absolute sucker for designers who lean more into the “visual interest” aspect of the design, and are willing to sacrifice some of the “traditional elegance” for that purpose. I want to look at a ring and think “wow that’s fucking rad” or “huh that’s neat, never seen anything like that before,” and these designers totally hit those marks.
Did he also make the wedding band?

To start…. here’s my beautiful 2.73c Australian Parti Sapphire made by Stoney at Australia Sapphire. My partner had it made and the final product was a total surprise. Looking through their message afterwards it’s clear to see Stoney not only is great at his craft but also wants to create the “dream” ring for his customer. He had a lot of backwards and forwards with my partner and no task or detail was to big a job. He made adjustments willingly and happily to get exactly the look my partner was chasing. He also sent a couple of mould rings to my partner to make sure the dimensions and look were right before proceeding. His attention to detail and care in making this ring makes it all the more special! ππ
