Round or Radiant? Bezel or No Bezel? Let’s Talk Engagement Rings!
Hey everyone! 💍✨
Welcome to our little corner of the engagement ring universe! Today, I want to dive deep into one of the most exciting and often debated topics: Round vs. Radiant diamonds and Bezel vs. No Bezel settings. These choices not only impact the style and brilliance of your ring but also reflect personal taste and lifestyle. So, grab a cup of coffee, and let’s explore!
Round vs. Radiant Diamonds
Round Diamonds:
- Classic Choice: Round diamonds are the most popular choice for engagement rings, making up about 75% of all diamond sales. Their timeless and classic appeal often symbolizes everlasting love.
- Brilliance: The round cut maximizes light reflection and is known for its incredible sparkle. Ideal for those who love the traditional, glimmering look.
Radiant Diamonds:
- Unique Style: Radiant cut diamonds combine the elegance of a rectangular shape with the brilliance of a round cut. Their distinct look sets them apart, making them perfect for someone who wants something different.
- Versatile Design: The radiant cut works beautifully in both modern and vintage settings, allowing for an array of design possibilities.
Discussion Prompt:
Which one resonates more with your style—traditional brilliance or unique elegance? Share your thoughts and, if you have them, pictures of your rings!
Bezel vs. No Bezel Settings
Bezel Settings:
- Sleek & Secure: Bezel settings encase the diamond in a metal rim, providing heightened security and a sleek look. This setting is ideal for an active lifestyle, as it lowers the risk of chipping or losing the stone.
- Modern Appeal: Bezel settings can give a contemporary flair to your ring, showcasing the diamond in a unique way.
No Bezel Settings (like prong settings):
- Showcase the Stone: Traditional prong settings allow maximum exposure to light, enhancing the diamond’s brilliance. They make the stone the star of the show, bringing out its natural beauty.
- Classic & Romantic: This setting often embodies the classic love story, allowing for various embellishments to complement the diamond, like side stones or intricate band designs.
Discussion Prompt:
Are you drawn to the clean lines and security of a bezel setting, or do you prefer the open beauty of a no-bezel design? What made you choose your particular setting?

Round suits your hand best.
ROUND!!!!!!!! Love on your finger:)
#1 love
My 20 year ring is a radiant in a full bezel that’s cathedral set with a split shank. There’s fine milgrain on the outside and inside of the bezel “frame” and also on the shank. My first set was a round dark blue sapphire, bezel set, with a halo and alot of etching and vintage details with a matching band – very art deco and “feels” antique. So, quite obviously, my vote insofar as cut for a diamond is radiant. And for the setting? Bezel set – all day, every day!!!
The last picture of the round is best. But, its your ring
I feel like the 2nd ring (no bezel) suits your hand better – if you really like the bezel I think a slimmer/more elongated stone would work well (personal opinion)
Bezel made me say, oooooooooooooo
Radiant bezel 💯
Those are emerald cuts!
#1 with the bezel. Stunning.
I 💜💜💜 the bezel!
