“Rediscovering My Love: The Journey of Remaking My Engagement Ring with a Wider Band”
Hello, everyone!
I’m thrilled to share an exciting personal journey I recently embarked on that relates to all of us who cherish our engagement rings and the stories they hold. After much contemplation, I decided to have my beloved engagement ring remade with a wider band, and it has transformed not just the ring itself but my entire connection to it!
The Spark of Change
When I first received my engagement ring, it was everything I had dreamed of: a stunning round cut diamond nestled in a delicate setting. A symbol of love and commitment, it held a special place in my heart. However, over time, I found myself yearning for something that felt more representative of my evolving style and personality. The original band, while beautiful, felt rather delicate next to some of my other pieces. I wanted a band that made a statement, one that felt more balanced and substantial.
Designing My New Ring
The decision to remake the ring wasn’t just about aesthetics; it was about embracing who I am today. I sought out a jeweler who understood my vision and could provide valuable insight into various styles and trends. After much deliberation, I opted for a wider band that not only highlights the diamond but also adds a modern twist to the classic design.
The process was incredibly rewarding. I chose a brushed finish for a contemporary feel, adding texture and depth that I believe complements the sparkle of the diamond beautifully. I even played around with a few accent stones on the band, creating a piece that is uniquely my own.
Sharing the Transformation
Once the ring was complete, it felt like unwrapping a treasure. The wider band not only enhances the visual weight of the diamond but also fits more comfortably. I can wear it with confidence, knowing it reflects my individuality.

It’s amazing how much a simple change can breathe new life into a cherished piece, and I couldn’t be happier with the journey that led me here!

Why did you remove the euroshank? They are the best for preventing spinning.
The first crystal ring design is absolutely dazzling—I think the first crystal you designed is fantastic.
That is ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!! 🤩
The ring looks great, balanced and proportional. I also have wider band and compare to thin band it is more comfortable
This is stunning, especially with the wider band! Can I ask who you had it made through?
1.2mm is sooo thin. Glad you got it remade with the thicker band. I actually think thicker bands look SO good. The before and after photos are satisfying to see lol. I’m in love with the after!! (May be biased because my ring looks exactly like yours – tapered cathedral with basket) My band is 2mm wide and 1.8mm thick (with a slightly smaller diamond) and I love the thickness and the proportions!!
In your opinion does the euro shank really help keep the ring from moving? I wanted one, and my jeweler said it won’t really help
Love the wider band!
it looks stunning and sturdy now!
It looks so good with the thicker band actually, and love the yellow gold too, classic! I just received a new ring that is 1.8mm and something looks “off” about the proportions with the bigger stones. I think the super thin bands are trendy and feminine but proportions and substantial durability is important. Kinda thinking I’m going to need to do the same and have mine reset at some point…. Was it expensive to do?
