“I Feel Like Something’s Wrong…”: An Open Discussion About Engagement Rings
Hey, gem aficionados and ring lovers! 💍 Today, I’m reaching out to the community feeling a bit unsettled about something—my engagement ring. No, it’s not that I’m unhappy with the beautiful piece of art that encompasses promises of love and commitment. Rather, I find myself questioning if it truly represents us and our journey together.
As someone who cherishes the symbolism behind such a significant purchase, it’s essential to feel a deep connection to every part of the ring: the gem, the cut, and the setting. But lately, I’ve been feeling like something’s missing. Perhaps it’s the design that doesn’t quite reflect my personal style, or maybe I’m just second-guessing the entire experience. Have any of you ever felt this way?
Let’s Spark a Discussion
-

-
Love Stories Behind the Bling: I’d love to hear the stories behind your rings! How did your partner choose it, and what sentiments did they share? If you found it difficult to communicate your wishes, how did that impact your final choice?
-
Future Purchases & Custom Designs: If you didn’t love your first engagement ring, would you consider redesigning it? Have you ever thought about creating a custom piece? What would that look like for you?
-
Advice for Future Buyers: For those currently searching for or designing an engagement ring—what tips do you wish you had known when you made your purchase? What have you learned about the process that could help others avoid misunderstandings?

I’m obsessed with this
Like it best with the spacer, but beautiful either way
it’s definitely very flashy imo (not a bad thing, and apologies if that comes across the wrong way). if you’re not used to wearing that much bling, that could be part of it
I like it both ways! Maybe you could do without the spacer for everyday wear and with the spacer when you go out? The spacer is my favorite – I feel like it highlights both rings really nicely!
No opinion on this just came to say I love your nail color!
They are both so pretty but on their own. Together the wedding band is distracting. Can you wear your band on left hand and ering on right hand?
From a practical point of view the spacer is sensible to stop that diamond band eating away the setting on your engagement ring.
Not sure exactly what you’re seeing. But I do prefer the stack without the space
Nothing is off. This is a gorgeous set.
Going against the crowd, I prefer it without the spacer. I like that it merges to look like one ring.
I like it way better without the spacer.
I like it better without the spacer. Looks like they were meant to be together. The spacer makes the stack look bigger than it needs to be, which isn’t as flattering on your finger.
With spacer definitely more aesthetic than without…. But my personal opinion is that with your engagement ring style, that wedding band is too big- it kind of takes away from the engagement ring (which is gorgeous). Both the band and the engagement ring are beautiful on their own, but I think together they may be too much.
I like it without the spacer band. The thing that looks off to me is that the main diamond blends in with everything else. It’s not distinctly round. If it was bigger, or if there weren’t those side stones next to it, it would stand out more.
Could it be the slightly different total width of the diamonds from the top view? Nothing wrong with it, they just are and I can see how that might bother some.
But absolutely gorgeous rings, I would also mix and match the stack depending on the day or mood, as others have suggested.
maybe it’s just that the rings are blending together so you aren’t seeing them as distinct when on your finger?
I love how it looks without the spacer — it gives the set a really cohesive, unified feel. It does make the engagement ring and wedding band look more like one piece, and maybe that’s what seems “off” to you. I personally prefer it without the spacer, but we’re so used to seeing how rings should look in other people’s photos that the cohesiveness of your set might just feel different because it doesn’t give each ring its own separate “moment.” Beautiful set though, such a dream!
You are probably not used to it. I think either way it’s beautiful. Leave it for a bit and see how you feel. Congrats!
I prefer it with the spacer. 🩷 Without the spacer, it kind of just looks like a big width of diamonds & it’s hard to appreciate each ring because they’re smooshed together. The spacer creates a divide & makes the whole stack more visually appealing, IMHO. 😘
It looks perfect! You just need to get used to wearing both at the same time
This is such a beautiful ring! I can’t find a single flaw.
This is a very beautiful set…both rings are gorgeous. I like it best with the spacer.
I think it’s absolutely beautiful. Actually I even zoomed in lol
Lose the spacer
I love your set both with and without the spacer. Obviously you need to love it too but I think it’s really quite perfect.
I’m not a huge fan of the spacer but beautiful rings either way you wear them!
No, you’re not crazy. It’s fairly normal to want to show off our beautiful rings and receive compliments.
More context— technically my band can sit flush because I have a flat part (idk what it’s called) where the band slots in. Right at those lil diamonds
Excuse my very gross nails lol. Engagement season totally wrecked them with all the gel polish, and then I cut the crap out of my finger meal prepping last night.

IMO the wedding band looks a little thick, overshadowing the spotlight of the engagement stone. The thickness also makes the stack look too blended without the spacer.
I like both ways! 😬
I think it’s beautiful and prefer it with the spacer. I like it so much I would like to know more about your wedding band since my engagement ring is similar except I don’t have as many side stones – just a pear on each side.
Gorgeous! Hopefully you figured it out, but sometimes things just take some getting used to.
Can I ask about your nail polish? I love that color!
I think it looks better without the spacer tbh, without it I think it’s a very pretty stack! But it could be that the double row of fairly large accent diamonds on the shank of your engagement ring and the wedding band is taking away from the center stone visually?
I would say maybe try out some curved bands that you could stack, possibly even the kind with marquise or baguette diamonds forming a sort of half-halo around it to accent the center stone more. You could stack your wedding band on one side and the accent band on the other?
I think it looks beautiful without the spacer. There’s going to be a lot of jealous brides seeing this and a lot of inspired bride-to-be’s.

It’s because they don’t sit flush but that’s the deal you made with a non flat edge with the engagement ring. Looks pretty to me just enjoy it
You can always wear one on your right hand as well! No rules around here
Love it, especially with the spacer
I think it’s the fact your engagement ring has a slight curve to it and your wedding band doesn’t. But I like the combination a lot.
I’m not seeing anything off, to be honest. The spacer looks subtle but beautiful and the other rings are in great proportion to each other. The whole stack is gorgeous!
I never understood a spacer until recently. Anyways I love yours with that spacer. The spacer is so small you don’t really even notice it at all, but it allows both rings to shine. I really like your set, it’s so sparkly!
I like your rings both ways, with or without spacer rings. Wear them to suit your mood. They are beautiful!
I think it’s a nice stack! I definitely think the spacer is a nice touch because you can tell they are two separate rings. Sitting flush it looks like it is all one ring
