Is It Just Me or Does It Look Crooked to You Guys Too? Is This Acceptable?
Hey, fellow ring enthusiasts!
I recently got engaged (yay!) and, of course, I’ve been soaking in all things rings since the big moment. I absolutely adore my engagement ring, but I’ve noticed something that’s been bothering me: the diamond seems slightly crooked! 😳
Now, before I go into a spiral about it, I want to open the floor to all of you. When it comes to engagement rings, is a crooked stone a dealbreaker or just a tiny imperfection we can overlook? Here’s a little backstory on my ring:
The Details:
- Cut: Round brilliant
 - Setting: Prong setting with four claws
 - Metal: White gold

I’ll be the first to admit, I’ve become a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to this ring. It’s not just a piece of jewelry; it’s a symbol of love and commitment. But I can’t help but wonder, is this minor flaw even worth worrying about?
Some Points to Consider
1. Beauty in Imperfection:
Let’s face it, not every piece of jewelry is going to be perfect. Many couples consciously choose rings that reflect their unique love stories, which can come with quirks. Some might argue that these slight imperfections add character and can even be a conversation starter!
2. The Importance of a Good Jeweler:
On the flip side, what’s the standard we should be aiming for when choosing an engagement ring? A well-rounded discussion about jeweler practices, quality control, and settings could help many of us ensure we’re investing in rings that are truly made to last. If others have had similar experiences, what would you recommend in addressing small issues like this?
3. The Emotional Factor:
Diamonds and gemstones carry emotional weight beyond their physical attributes. If a ring feels perfect in your hand but has a minor flaw, does it really matter? I’d love to hear how your emotions toward a ring influenced your perception of its physical qualities.
Let’s Hear Your Thoughts!
So, what do you think? Is my diamond’s slight tilt an alarming flaw, or just part of its charm? Have you ever encountered a similar issue with your engagement rings? How did you navigate the emotional and practical aspects of your ring experience?
Please share your stories, opinions, and photos of your rings! Can’t wait to hear your thoughts and make this a rich discussion about what makes an engagement ring special, crooked or not! 💍✨
Looking forward to the conversation,
[Your Name]

I can definitely see what you see. Could it be the way the light is hitting it? It will drive you insane if it is 😭
It looks level to me looking at the light underneath
I personally don’t see anything crooked. It’s a stunning ring and setting!
It’s just you – what am I looking for ?
Looks fine to me
Lower left stone / setting is larger ?
Wonky as heck!
That would really mess with me 😅.
it does look the teeniest bit crooked but only after I read what you were saying about it. before I knew what to look for I couldn’t tell at all!
I think looks perfect
Honestly it doesn’t look bad to me. I have to really stare to see what you’re talking about. In real life when it’s on your fingers you probably won’t notice at all, since the picture is bigger than reality.
That’s not symmetrical. But.. i mean, what are we talking $ wise? OCD…. you do gotta pick your battles.
Once you see something you can’t unsee it, either.
It’s lighting
I think I see what you mean. The right corner doesn’t extend quite as far as the left. But I had to enlarge and really look hard to notice. Unless it really bothers you, I would be okay with it.
The band looks crooked
It’s beautiful and a bezel? Automatically beautiful!
I think it looks fine, remember jewelers aren’t machines.
I think this is gorgeous. I love this setting. Doesn’t look crooked at all to me
I think it looks great. But I’m also biased because it reminds me of my ring lol

I think the top right has a sharper angle, others are more softly rounded
I can’t really tell unless I’m really studying it. If it isn’t to ur liking hopefully u can have it reset. The setting might not hold the stone safely if it’s not strong equally the whole way around. And, u will probably b bothered by it every day of the rest of ur life too if it’s not perfect 💍
Not crooked!
I thought it was crooked at first glance.. Then read the caption and looked really hard and it looked fine lol.. So dunno
I feel like I’ve seen the exact same ring in a different post a few days ago. Someone was complaining about the design on that one as well. 🤔
(I think it looks fine, but if I need to be picky there’s something slightly off in the bottom right corner ).
It looks like the lighting. It’s also been photoshopped to remove reflection which can distort how the eye perceives size.
It is immediately visible to me. I too would be annoyed. Sorry.
After REALLY looking, in the first photo, the bottom looks thicker than the top. In the second photo, the top looks thicker than the bottom. I think it’s symmetrical, just seems different depending on which angle you look at it from!
And it’s YOUR ring, so you’re probably being extremely scrupulous with the details. That’s how I was with mine too 😆
The ring is beautiful!
I have an emerald cut diamond in a bezel setting and there maybe some very small details like this but I can’t notice it at all. You’d have to really stare with it a few inches from your eyes to notice it daily so you’ll be okay in the long term if this is your dream ring. But if there’s something you’re unhappy with once it’s on your hand, don’t be afraid to speak up!
What looks off to me is that the stone is not centered on the band, at least in this picture. It may look different in person. I think that is what is catching your eye as far as something being off about the ring.
I can see the potential issue you are talking about with the bezel. It could be lighting. Have you seen it in person or in video in different lighting or even pictures?
It doesn’t look crooked to me put a pic of it on your hand
It looks beautiful. We have to remember it’s humans doing this and not machines. Yes if you stare at it for hours I’m sure you can find slight differences but there’s nothing wrong with that. It’s a beautiful piece that didn’t come out of a cookie cutter.
The stone isn’t crooked the bezel is just not crisp and even
top right is thinner
I don’t see anything wrong, I love it!
I see it. But I have OCD so even if no one else could see it I’d be worried that “knowing” it was uneven would bother me. I don’t know what I would do though since maybe in person it doesn’t look crooked. I’d probably at least point it out to the jeweler and just inquire. Maybe ask for photos of it on a finger?
Even when you say “top right” looks different, I can’t see it. So no, looks amazing to me.
Idk it looked beautiful then I read your post and I see it now.. either the stone or the setting or the way the stone is set, are you fully insured? And if it’s new they should fix it no questions asked

I marked what I perceived to be each corner with a yellow dot. I then drew horizontal and vertical lines connecting them based on the “average” of where those dots were so you can see how much each dot deviates from the center line. When I first saw the ring the only thing that stood out to me was how much wider the slanted sections of the right side were than the left side, which is clearly noticeable by the gaps between the green lines (and the yellow dots are still even wider than the green lines at the top right). But jewelry is handmade!
It’s a feature and not a bug.
You are imperfect and I love you anyway.
To show that, here is this imperfect ring that I got on a bargain deal.
I don’t think it look crooked but the longer I look I’m trying to find it but I’m curious what this is??

Omg it won’t let me add a photo. It looks solid to me. To the left of the ring there is a divot or a scratch?

Here’s a photo of it on hand. The too bezel looks very thin to me. Any thoughts?
