My East-West Marquise: A Personal Love Story with an Engagement Ring
Hello, fellow ring aficionados!
I’m thrilled to join this vibrant community and share a very special piece of my heart—my engagement ring! Let me introduce you to my East-West marquise diamond, a unique and elegant choice that perfectly encapsulates my journey of love and commitment.
The Allure of the Marquise Cut
The marquise cut, with its elongated shape and stunning brilliance, is a true showstopper. The East-West orientation adds a modern twist that truly sets it apart. I was initially drawn to the way it combines classic elegance with a contemporary vibe. This ring is not just a piece of jewelry; it tells a story—one of passion, dreams, and shared adventures.
Why East-West?
For me, the East-West setting symbolizes a journey beyond tradition. While many people gravitate toward the classic North-South alignment, I found that the East-West orientation offers a unique elegance that turns heads and sparks conversations. It’s the perfect representation of how I’ve approached love—willing to break from convention to celebrate what feels right for me.
The Gemstone and Its Meaning
The centerpiece of my ring is a stunning 1.5-carat marquise diamond, ethically sourced and certified for its quality. The diamond’s fiery facets catch the light beautifully, and I often find myself mesmerized by the way it sparkles—much like the connection I share with my partner. Each facet whispers a new story, making me believe that every love has its own unique sparkle.
Setting the Scene
I opted for a simple band in white gold to let the diamond shine. The sleekness of the band complements the extravagant shape of the marquise, creating a harmonious balance that I adore. I also considered intricate halo settings and vintage-inspired designs, but ultimately, I wanted something timeless yet unique.

Beautiful, unique ring. Now tell us more about the bar snacks.
Congratulations!! I also have an east west marquise, and since mine is pretty low set, I went with a curved band of 7 diamonds and am very happy with it! They don’t always line up together on my finger (maybe a quarter size big) but it doesn’t bother me. On my wedding day, some people said they “didn’t see it” when I extended my hand as the band is low and hides a bit behind the engagement ring, so if that bothers you..
Your ring looks higher set though, so the possibilities are endless! I had a lot of fun trying on bands so enjoy that 😊

Oh my word. That’s gorgeous. The ring, the spot, the homage to your grandmother’s ring.
Beautiful. Congrats!
