Let me share some specifics about my ring! It’s a classic round brilliant cut diamond, with a brilliant white G color and VS2 clarity. My ring is also from rare carat and we had an issue with the prongs when it first arrived. Ended up sending it back to be re-made. I can’t recall if it was free for them to fix or if there was a fee, but if there was it wasn’t much. It looks crooked to me as well, I would reach out to them.
I looked at the pictures and said “those prongs look crooked” and then clicked on the post…
love it!
Oh man yes those prongs are messed up. I’ve worked with RareCarat a few times and have had mostly good experiences. They do go out of their way to make you happy. Once they refunded $250 for messed up prongs without me even asking
Prongs are awful! Sorry! 😣
Yes the prong looks off center. Is Rare Carat lab created? And is it set in solid gold?
You’re correct, prongs are crooked- poor setting Jon which they need to correct. It’s too easy for wonky prongs to catch on hair, clothing, etc.
After seeing several posts about huge errors like this, I’m glad I didn’t purchase from them. I was also a bit unsettled by emails by the ceo and team when they saw I was viewing a “large diamond” and wanted to offer help in my search…nice, but you are watching me browse?
I own a jewelry store, this is unacceptable. Nothing is “perfect” but this is not okay. The prongs are also not level meaning its not going to hold up well over time. It’s not only unattractive for something you spent good money on, but also can lead to issues down the road. I would demand they have someone who can actually set this correctly do this. Not the same jeweler because a 6 prong oval is one of the easiest things to set. If they can’t do that I’d be extremely concerned about them touching your ring again. If they charge you a dime I would raise holy hell if I were you. You deserve better than this.
so I’m not even in a relationship but I am I new lurker as I have friends who are getting ring inspiration.
can someone please tell me what shape and setting this is, because this is absolutely such a stunning concept for an engagement ring
The diamond is gorgeous – such a classic choice! she’s going to love it.
I order my wife’s engagement ring and wedding band from Rare Carat and the wedding band had a tiny rough spot that most people wouldn’t even notice. I sent them pics and they immediately accepted my return and sent new ring. They were very nice and it was an easy, relatively quick process. You’re spending lots of money on this thing, even they understand it should be perfect.
I’m always seeing quality issues from them pop up on here, I’m unfortunately not surprised. You can try and see if they’ll reimburse you or replace it, or find a local jeweler that can fix it.
