Rings with Stories

Sharing these stories not only connects us but also gives others insight into what makes each ring unique.
What to Do with an Old Ring?
Now, let’s dive into a common dilemma: what to do if you’re thinking of parting with an engagement ring from a past relationship. Here are some options to consider:
-
Repurposing: Transform the original design into something new! Whether it’s reimagining it into a different piece of jewelry or using the stones for a fresh creation, this could give new life to a cherished item.
-
Selling: If the ring no longer holds sentimental value, selling it could be a viable option. However, understanding the market and what similar rings are selling for can help you get the best value.
-
Donation: Consider donating the ring to a charity or organization. Some groups accept jewelry for fundraising purposes, allowing the ring to help others in need.
-
Memory Box: Sometimes, it feels right to keep the ring as a part of your journey. You could store it in a memory box to reflect on fond memories without actively wearing it.

Your ring is gorgeous wear it on your other hand for sure!
I once had one and wish I could find it .
I would cherish it more to honor the space in time it covets
.
you could make a shadow box with both of your original rings and some photos and other keepsakes from your wedding to hang in your bedroom! would mean you still got to look at it all the time, no concern of it getting damaged, and would be a nice conversation piece in your home!
Not exactly an engagement ring, but my girlfriend and I got each other promise rings before we were in a good position to engage and marry.
Mine was too small for my finger (not her fault, I just have thick fingers), ended up getting a necklace and I wear it around my neck. Whenever I’m stressed to this day, I reach and clutch that necklace as a reminder of them
I keep my first engagement ring on display in my office!

Bae got it last minute at the resort where we did our first proposal. It means so much to me sentimentally but just wasn’t my style so they proposed again. To me, it reminds me of Tiffany classic rings so I got a little blue box for it
maybe a necklace or wearing it on your other hand?
It would still be “right side up” when you look down at a necklace, and would be “upside down” to everyone else, just like your ring.
This is the perfect situation for resetting gems into a pendant! You can wear it all the time without worrying about wear or damage like you would with a new ring setting, you never have to worry about ring size changing again, and you can wear it at the same time as your new ring.
Why won’t you wear your engagement ring again? If I were you I’d see if a jeweler could remake it with more quality materials. Not sure what could be subbed for onyx but perhaps you’d like a different stone. The black looks fantastic, though
I would just keep it as a ring. You may want to wear it again in 5 years- you really don’t know. It’s a nice keepsake as is without taking it apart.
I would make a necklace out of it.
find a very dark blue sapphire in the same cut and create a new, more durable ring in a similar/the same style.
I would put it in a white gold bezel setting and wear it on special occasions!
I like the idea of a necklace. There are ring holder necklaces like this one and the ring slides onto it. That way the ring stays intact and you can still wear it. This one is plated, but I think it looks nice and is affordable. You could get a solid gold one if you wanted to spend more.

That would make a stunning necklace. You could get a jeweler to remake it into a pendant or integrated into a necklace.
My husband got me a sterling silver moonstone ring the first christmas we were together. Its my favorite peice of jewlery I still to this day wear it in my right hand.
If you are planning on having kids maybe just keep it safe, it’s sentimental value makes it priceless, a daughter may want to wear it down the line,
If not, I would just wear it on your other hand, maybe get it resized for a different finger. It’s so pretty x
Buy a short gold plated chain and put it on your wedding pic 🙂
its PERF to be made into a necklace my dear. that way you can keep ot close to your heart always
(or if you have cartiledge piercings maybe into some ear jewelry). the stones are gorg!
or save it for one of your daughters for when theyre old enough?
i also saw someone fix them into the front cover of their journal once. that was super cool altho i have no clue how she did it.
let us know what you end up deciding OP
friggen GORGEOUS ring tho for real. i love it.
I’d frame it in one of those 3D frames and put it on display.
This ring is so beautiful! I recently had a ring I inherited resized to sit on my index finger and it has brought me so much joy, maybe something like that could work?
It’s beautiful maybe you can incorporate it into your new ring?
It would make a super pretty pendant – just taking the stones and having a jeweler put them in a pendant setting.

Wear it on your right hand
