Discussing the Details: Cuts, Settings, & More!
There’s so much to consider when choosing an engagement ring! Here are some topics to spark discussion:
-
The Cut: Are you a fan of the classic round brilliant, or do you lean towards something unique like an emerald or pear shape? What cut did you choose, and how did you decide?
-
The Setting: From solitaires to halo settings, the options are endless. What settings have you fallen in love with? What type best complements your gemstone?
-
Gemstone Choices: Diamonds are timeless, but many people are opting for sapphires, moissanites, or even alternative stones. What are your thoughts on your chosen gem? Did you go traditional or break the mold?
-
Custom Designs vs. Ready-Made: Did you design your own ring, or did you find the perfect one ready to go? What was that process like for you?
Learning from Each Other
This is also a space for learning. If you’ve recently purchased a ring or are considering one, feel free to ask questions!
- What factors did you consider?
- Any tips for budgeting or finding the right jeweler?
- What have you learned about gemstones or ring care that others in the community should know?

I actually love eternity rings. I usually go for a half eternity for comfort reasons though and would probably reccomend that for an engagment ring but if that isnt your wish then it doesnt matter what others think. Its goregous and even if you regret it later in life, oh well. A lot of people upgrade to different rings to accommodate their change in style/size/lifestyle all the time.
It’s so beautiful. Wish I could wear one myself but the itching and skin irritation from the stones rubbing against my nearby fingers is intolerable.
Its pretty but just looks so uncomfortable
How can you hand been the same weight your WHOLE LIFE?
I love it. YOLO.
it’s very unique, which i love. is it comfortable?
This is gorgeous. I would find it really uncomfortable myself though. Having it fit slightly big sounds like a good idea since it can’t be resized. Some people will dislike any ring that isn’t traditional, but I think everyone should wear what they like! It would be boring if we all liked and wore the same exact styles.
I think it’s really pretty, I do worry about it causing irritation on the other fingers when it rubs against it. My ring has some small diamonds on the sides and occasionally it’ll rub against the insides of the other fingers and make the skin irritated.
Sooooooo pretty !!!!!!!
Love!!!!
I think it’s gorgeous!!! I could only wear it on my non dominant thumb. There are times when it will really hurt your fingers. I say that in case you want to keep it but can’t wear it on that finger. ❤️❤️❤️
Even with weight flunctuations +-30 lbs? My ring size didn’t change, so I don’t think if you gain weight this will be fixed. I do agree thar getting a e-ring or wedding band that can be easily resized is the smart thing to do, for peace of mind. I’d be annoyed if I had to switch fingers all the time.
Beautiful! See if your jeweler can put a “speed bump” on the inside palm area. I have one on mine I had welded together, as the weight would spin it around palm side down when my fingers weren’t puffy. It keeps it in place and you get used to it fast.
😍
Since you’re asking, it probably looks better on display than on a finger.
Lovely ring but not practical for every day wear.
I’ve owned so many Tiffany pieces like this… they snag EVERYTHING. I cannot tell you how many sweaters, leggings, and knits I’ve RUINED because of them.
I wouldn’t consider it
if you were to gain weight and the ring no longer fits, those stones are big enough and set in such a way that you could easily use them for any number of other pieces. i’d be more concerned that it will be out of fashion than out of size. it’s a very trendy setting, but it is gorgeous.
Gorgeous 💯
My surrounding fingers hurt looking at it
It looks chunky and kinda uncomfortable?
This is sooo beautiful!
Nah girl
I like it but it looks like it will be very uncomfortable over time and in general, eternity rings aren’t recommended for something you are supposed to wear the rest of your life
looks big and chunky, not my favourite style.
It looks too chunky for your finger. You look like you have long, slender fingers. So a chunky band will not do either of you any service. If you went with this ring, I’d only wear it on special occasions, or in spaces where you want people to know you’re engaged or married.
It’s pretty.. but it looks uncomfortable and like it will snag on things. I wouldn’t pick this as an engagement ring.. it’s more of a “wear once in a while” type of ring.
I also wouldn’t necessarily bank on *never* gaining weight just because it hasn’t happened while in your 20s/30s.
